I picked this photo because it is a powerful picture, you can see the emotion in the son's face as he tries not to cry. The angle of the photo shows over the shoulder of the man holding his dad's flag, it really adds to the picture because you can see everything even if it's not represented in the picture, it could be what the boy is thinking.

I picked this photo because the composition of the photo and the emotion showed in the picture, you can see how destroyed the background is and you can also see how the man may be destroyed emotionally because he lost everything. The angle shows the background and how others are also suffering.

This is the best photo out of the top 40 because it shows how dogs and animals in general have emotions. Anyone who has had an animal that they loved has thought, "What am I gonna do when ______ dies". Everyone knows animals do not live longer than humans and nobody really thinks of their animal dealing with an owner deceasing. This picture shows the emotion in the dog laying down next to his owners grave for two days. The composition of this photo doesn't really add to the picture in my opinion, in fact I think it could have been better.
