National Geographic and Ethics in Photography
National Geographic
This is my favorite photo of the 45 photos because it's dark, but glows, it's also evil, but beautiful. You could make a thousand assumptions about this photo and any of them could be right. I like how the leopards eyes glow along with the moon, this seems like a one in a million photo that will never be repeated ever again.
Photo Manipulation
The article talks about how people have abused photo manipulation with Photoshop and other programs that directly affected many people. It also talks about when it is appropriate to manipulate a photo. The article talks about history of changing photos to look better, and some of the people who used manipulation like W. Eugene Smith. The article talks about how manipulating photos in the future might go unnoticed, which is scary for some people that believe everything they see.
Photo manipulation is profitable in the hands of a sane person. Some people like to change photos for political reasons and other reasons not for making the photo look more appealing to the eye. Some people use manipulation to get a laugh, which is okay.
Ethics

This photo edit is the most ethical because it didn't majorly affect the picture, it only made the picture easier to see. This simple edit made the picture much more pleasurable to the eye.
This photo of Oprah is unethical because that isn't her body, it only gives her a slimmer figure to giver her a better image and make her look more appropriate for television. TV Guide is using Oprah as a positive image to make people purchase they're products.
