Academic Shoot

Rule of Thirds

I feel I followed this rule well, the subject is the book, it is very clear that the subject is the book because it is the main focus. I could have done better with this rule by moving from the spot where I took the picture.

Simplicity

This picture worked out good with simplicity because nobody was sitting behind the person in the picture which made your eyes focus on the subject (which is the person in the photo). It's clear that the person in the photo is the subject because he is the only one in the photo. I feel I followed this rule well.

Balance

This is probably my favorite picture I took, I feel I followed the rule perfectly, it's clear that what the subject is in this photo because it's one of my photos that actually focused.

Lines

I feel I followed the rule correctly, the subject is the ribbons. It might not be clear that the ribbons are clearly the subject at first, but on a second look you would know. I wish I could somehow blur everything except the ribbons on the camera, I'm not sure that is something you can do without Photoshop.

Framing

This isn't a good example of framing, it's one of the only pictures I had where I felt there could actually be frame, next time I shoot I will try to find more way to get a frame into the picture.

Avoiding Mergers

This is a decent example of avoiding mergers, it's hard to avoid mergers when everyone is sitting inside a desk and cramped together. The subject is the kid, it's clear it's the kid because he is looking directly at the camera.
